IMendonça, Antonio S. de;a3 have to go to lunch with Senhor de Mendonca1 at the Devonshire Club; and after that I have two or three people coming to see me at Russell Square. Sotravels, trips and plansEH's 1937 summer in England;c7dinner at L'Escargot;a9 I suggest that you should meet me at 7.30 at the Escargot, 48 Greek Street, Soho which you know well. <If you have other wishes, ring me up in the afternoon.> The train leaves at 10.35 from Kings Cross. I shall take my luggage to Kings Cross in the morning. I do not suppose you will have much, but if you have it with you you can bring it to the restaurant in a taxi for which I will pay; if you have left it at Paddington we can fetch it on the way.
I do not know whether to be glad that you will be in Edinburgh or distressed to think of you alone for so much of the day in a foreign city, and returning alone, while I shall be busy with formal occasions.
