[Stamford House, Chipping Campden]

Thank you for your note this morning. I hope you will rest until my return, & not get up to breakfast. TheWorld Conference of Churches, 1937keeps TSE from Campden;a2 sad news is that I shall have to stay over Saturday morning here to do my duty – having declined to serve on the drafting Committee – anyway, it would be on my conscience if I didn’t. I will explain all this when I come. I will take the 1.45 (i.e. from Oxford at about 3.00) and arrive for tea on Saturday. I am very sorry & sad! but I was too optimistic.

I will try to get the books you want & bring them.
