This is just a short note (and I haven[']t got a new typewriter ribbon yet) to send Christmas sentiments – trusting that four days should be enough to be in time – wondering what all your experiences in Italy have been and how you are faring in every way, and praying for all good. This has been a busy day – sent off 35 Christmas cards (48 of yours previously to America), bought a xylophone, a railway station, a crib, a watch and a printing press; dinedBurns, Tom;a2 withMorley, Frank Vigor;d5 Tom Burns who had an important publishing enterprise to discuss which I must take up with Morley in the morning, asFabers, the;c2 Faber has left for Wales; tomorrow night at Rochester; a dozen letters unwritten. A previous letter (before the last to Florence) went to Rome; and Christmas cards; I send this to your pension address, which doesn’t read quite right to me. I do not intend to be officially at my office, after Saturday, for a week; so may get some work done. With every blessing of the season,
