ItBehrens, Margaret Elizabeth (née Davidson)in Ilfracombe;c5 is a very small and informal village: the Field Marshall and the Powells are here, and I have met other people through them – one meets them in the tap room of the local pub. A hearty naval Commander whose sister wanted my opinion of her (very feeble) poetry etc. I walk every day – too late in the season to begin bathing.
Your letter of Sep. 3 was forwarded to me – my dear, I long to see you looking so well, and I am happy about the ‘Princeton’ affair, though still rather confused. I think of you starting school life once more and at your new address. I have longed for your company here. I will type at length on my return – no message since early August.
