My darling

I had meant to write at length today for the Aquitania, but a slight infection of the throat has kept me in bed for 2 days, and the doctor will not let me out till Monday. Tomorrow I get up in the afternoon. I should not have gone to Rochester to spend a night with the Days! and I didn’t want to either. But I get a good rest now and shall be all the better for it. If there is no boat till the end of the week you may expect two letters at once – but I miss you very much, even in a little illness, and wish you were looking after me.

Lovingly
Tom
