International T. S. Eliot Summer School 2027 Winter Session

The T. S. Eliot International Summer School has announced the third annual winter session, an exclusive, one-day seminar designed to foster collaboration, share research, and support new emerging scholarship on Eliot’s work. Open to participants at any level, the winter session offers a taste of the summer school, introducing students to the kinds of conversations, texts, and approaches they can encounter in Oxford every July.

This year’s topic is Eliot in Crisis. The seminar, led by Anthony Cuda and Michelle Taylor, is an invitation to think with Eliot about crisis. Does Eliot treat crisis as a catalyst or an impasse? How does his work provoke or postpone crisis? What can we learn from Eliot’s creative approaches to and withdrawals from crisis?

The 2027 winter session will be held at University College London on Tuesday, 19 January.  Tuition for the day’s events (including coffee, lunch, dinner and a ticket to the T. S. Eliot Prize readings on Sunday 17 January) is £200.

Registration is now open and scholarships are available. Further information can be found on the T. S. Eliot International Summer School website, here.
