2022 T. S. Eliot Lecture with Sally Rooney

In the centenary year of the publication of ‘The Waste Land’, Sally Rooney will deliver the T. S. Eliot Lecture at the Abbey Theatre, Dublin on 23 October 2022.

The T. S. Eliot Lecture has been presented at the Abbey Theatre since 2016. Inspired by Eliot’s legacy, previous speakers include Paul Muldoon, Steven Pinker, Samantha Power, Sean Scully, Edna O’Brien and Es Devlin.

The event will be introduced by writer Mark O’Connell and the lecture will be followed by an in-conversation with Anne Enright.

Sally Rooney is the author of Conversations with FriendsNormal People and Beautiful World, Where Are You. All three of her novels have been international bestsellers and her work is translated into over 40 languages. Her first two novels have been adapted as television series for the BBC. In 2022, TIME magazine named her among the 100 most influential people in global culture. She lives and works in County Mayo, Ireland, where she was born.
