Pascale Petit was born in Paris and grew up in France and Wales. She trained as a sculptor at the Royal College of Art and was a visual artist in her early career. She published six collections of poetry with Seren, four of which were shortlisted for the T. S. Eliot Prize, most recently Fauverie (2014). A portfolio of poems from this book won the 2013 Manchester Poetry Prize. She was selected by the Poetry Book Society as one of the Next Generation Poets in 2004.
Since chairing the panel of judges of the T. S. Eliot Prize 2015, her further publications include: Tiger Girl (Bloodaxe Books, 2020), shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Collection and for the English language poetry category shortlist for Wales Book of the Year 2021; Mama Amazonica (Bloodaxe Books, 2017), a Poetry Book Society Choice, shortlisted for the Roehampton Poetry Prize 2018 and winner of the RSL Ondaatje Prize 2018 and the Laurel Prize 2020.
