‘For last year’s words belong to last year’s language / And next year’s words await another voice. – T. S. Eliot, ‘Little Gidding’
The T. S. Eliot Prize Shortlist Readings, held annually in January, are one of the poetry world’s biggest and most exciting occasions. Bringing together ten seasoned and newly emerging writers in the magnificent surroundings of Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, the Readings offer a thrilling and uplifting experience of contemporary poetry.
The T. S. Eliot Prize 2023 Shortlist Readings will take place on Sunday 14 January 2024 at 7pm as part of Southbank Centre’s literature programme, and will be expertly hosted, as ever, by Ian McMillan. The Readings will be British Sign Language interpreted throughout and are simultaneously live-streamed.
Booking will open in October 2023 of seeing and hearing the poets in the celebrated Royal Festival Hall. If you are unable to attend in person, be sure to reserve the best seat in your own home and book the livestream.
Ticket prices will be announced in due course. There are no booking fees for in-person bookings, Southbank Centre Members and Supporters Circles.
