The 2020 T. S. Eliot Prize Readings were broadcast on Sunday 24th January at 7pm. Lavinia Greenlaw, the Chair of the Judges, announced that this year’s winner was Bhanu Kapil with her collection How to Wash a Heart, published by Pavilion Poetry. Bhanu will receive a cheque for £25,000, the most valuable prize in British poetry. All ten shortlisted poets will receive a cheque for £1,500.
Because of the national lockdown in the UK, this year’s T. S Eliot Prize Readings were only available as a streamed event, but we hope that this made it accessible to a national and international audience. Get access to the on-demand video from the Southbank’s online ticket office now. This is available until 31 January. Email customer@southbankcentre.co.uk for any ticket booking enquiries.
