2025 Eliot Prize winner Karen Solie is just one of an exciting line-up set to perform as Newcastle Poetry Festival returns on 2–3 October.
The theme of the eleventh festival is ‘Re-inventing North’ and Karen Solie will perform with fellow Eliot Prize poets Daljit Nagra and Sean O’Brien.
Newcastle Poetry Festival brings poets to Newcastle from all over the world to read, run workshops, and share conversations about poetry. Now an independent charity, its aim is to promote poetry in the North East by bringing together new and establish local, national and international poets. The T. S. Eliot Foundation is delighted to support the Festival’s work.
There is a tremendous programme lined up at St Mary’s Heritage Centre Gateshead, including Rachael Boast, Imtiaz Dharker and Sarah Howe. Newcastle Poetry Festival also warmly invites new poets who have not yet published a pamphlet or poetry book to submit a poem for their ‘Open Mic’ session and join their free ‘Mentoring Session’ for new poets.
