Dorothy Richards, née Pilley
(1894–1986)
Dorothy Pilley Richards, (1894–1986), daughter of an industrial chemist; journalist and climber; worked as a reporter (for a while at the Daily Express) before marrying I. A. Richards in 1926. She and Richards scaled mountains all over the world. Her Climbing Days (1935) recounts some of their exploits in the Alps, notably including a first ascent of a major route on the Dent Blanche.
