The T. S. Eliot Prize and The Poetry Society have now published the first set of video reviews created by participants in the new Young Critics Scheme.<\/p>\n
Holly Moberley reviews\u00a0The Room Between Us\u00a0<\/i>by Denise Saul and SZ Shao explores Jemma Borg\u2019s\u00a0Wilder<\/i>, while Aliyah Begum, Eric Yip and Noah Jacob offer lively, conversational reviews of\u00a0The Thirteenth Angel\u00a0<\/i>by Philip Gross,\u00a0Slide\u00a0<\/i>by Mark Pajak and\u00a0Ephemeron\u00a0<\/i>by Fiona Benson. The video reviews are now available to watch on the T. S. Eliot Prize<\/a> and\u00a0The Poetry Society<\/a>\u2019s YouTube channels.<\/p>\n \u2018We are delighted with the outcome of the Young Critics Scheme,\u2019 said Michael Sims, Director of the T. S. Eliot Prize. \u2018I would like to thank all the reviewers, who present astonishingly insightful and invigorating readings of their selected title from this year\u2019s shortlist \u2013 the video reviews are highly recommended viewing!\u2019<\/p>\n The Young Critics scheme<\/a>, a new partnership project between the T. S. Eliot Prize and The Poetry Society\u2019s Young Poets Network<\/a>, invited ten writers aged 18-25 to create their own video review of each of the collections shortlisted for the T. S. Eliot Prize. The aim was to help them develop their creative and critical skills and to amplify young people\u2019s voices in the conversation around this year\u2019s T. S. Eliot Prize shortlist.<\/p>\n Look out for the second set of video reviews \u2013 Mukisa Verrall, Lily McDermott, Davina Bacon, Ruth Awolola and Abondance Matanda on (respectively)\u00a0Manorism\u00a0<\/i>by Yomi \u1e62ode,\u00a0bandit country\u00a0<\/i>by James Conor Patterson,\u00a0Quiet\u00a0<\/i>by Victoria Adukwei Bulley,\u00a0England\u2019s Green\u00a0<\/i>by Zaffar Kunial and\u00a0Sonnets for Albert\u00a0<\/i>by Anthony Joseph, which will be released in the coming weeks, ahead of the T. S. Eliot Prize Readings on 15 January 2023. Keep an eye out on the T. S.
