Eliot Foundation has increased the winner\u2019s prize money to \u00a325,000. S. Eliot Prize<\/strong>\u00a0is run by\u00a0<strong>The T. S. Eliot Foundation<\/strong>. This is the richest prize in British poetry, with the winning poet receiving a cheque for \u00a325,000 and the shortlisted poets each receiving \u00a31,500.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nThe T. S. Eliot Prize Shortlist Readings<\/strong>\u00a0will take place on Sunday 14th January 2018 in Southbank Centre\u2019s Royal Festival Hall. The shortlist readings are the largest annual poetry event in the UK and will be hosted once again by Ian McMillan. Tickets are now on sale from Southbank Centre\u2019s ticket office on 0203 879 9555 or via\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.southbankcentre.co.uk\/literature\">www.southbankcentre.co.uk\/literature<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The winner of the 2017 Prize will be announced at\u00a0<strong>the<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Award Ceremony<\/strong>\u00a0on Monday 15th January 2018, where the winner and the shortlisted poets will be presented with their cheques. This continues the tradition started by Mrs Valerie Eliot, who provided the prize money from the inception of the Prize.<br \/>\nLast year\u2019s winner was Jacob Polley for\u00a0<em>Jackself<\/em>\u00a0(Picador). The judges were Ruth Padel (Chair), Julia Copus and Alan Gillis.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>The weekly T. S.
