S. Eliot’s Gloucester’ on Saturday 16th September 2023. T. S. Eliot treasured his childhood memories of the Gloucester seascape, where freedom and loss, human and nature, home and elsewhere mingled in tidal pools and wide waters coloured with nostalgia. Dr Daniel will explore how Eliot’s poetry often lingers in these oceanic sites to consider the relationship between personal memory and the sweep of geologic and human history. The lecture is followed by a catered reception.

Source: Archive Centre, King’s College, Cambridge, HB/B/8.

The lecture and reception are both free to attend and will take place at North Shore Arts Association, 11 Pirates Lane, Gloucester, MA. on Saturday 16th September 2023, 5:30-7:30pm.

Tickets are limited.
