This penultimate volume of Eliot\u2019s collected prose covers the period 1947-1953 and includes twenty-five previously unpublished pieces.<\/p>\n<p>In between working on two plays (<em>The Cocktail Party<\/em> and <em>The Confidential Clerk<\/em>), Eliot\u2019s literary criticism continued; he wrote ten major essays and travelled across Europe and America giving lectures and readings and accepting honorary degrees and special awards. The prose is wide-ranging and includes a preface to a broadcast of <em>Murder in the Cathedral<\/em> in Hindustani, a tribute to Max Beerbohm, Some Thoughts on Braille for the National Book League, letters to the Editor of the Times about UNESCO, Poetry and Drama, and a Presidential Address to Books Across the Sea.<\/p>\n<p>Access to\u00a0<em>The Complete Prose of T.
